Canakkale 2018
During the Symposium, organized in cooperation by The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and Onsekiz Mart University archaeological excavation and survey work, as well as archaeometric studies of artefacts recovered by these works, carried out in 2017 with the permission of the ministry will be presented.
At the Symposium there are expected to be about more than 300 presentations in the Excavation Results Meeting, Research Results Meeting and Archaeometry Results Meetings. Scientists from America, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Canada and Poland will be in attendance.
The Symposium, which carries the distinction of being the most important archaeological scientific event to take place in Turkey, has been organized without interruption since 1979. From 1979-2003 the Symposium organized under the auspices of the Ministry in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Çanakkale, from 2004 onwards has been organized in cooperation with universities.
